FireSprinkPro Design Studio ("FireSprinkPro", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy.

FireSprinkPro is a professional fire sprinkler design and hydraulic calculation application. We have designed the app so that as much of your work as possible remains on your own device.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices and rights available to you.

1. The simple version

Our approach to privacy is straightforward:

You can use FireSprinkPro's free limited features without creating an account.
Work created in the offline mode is stored locally on your device.
An account is required to access purchased features.
Cloud backup and synchronisation of project files is optional.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your information for advertising.
We do not use your information for behavioural profiling.
We do not use third-party advertising or marketing trackers.
We do not make automated decisions about you based on your personal information.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account.

2. Using FireSprinkPro without an account

FireSprinkPro provides a limited set of features that can be used without creating an account.

Projects and layouts created in this mode are stored locally on your device.

FireSprinkPro does not require you to provide us with personal information in order to use these features.

Your device operating system, app store or other services installed on your device may separately process technical information. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and are not controlled by FireSprinkPro.

3. FireSprinkPro accounts

An account is required to access FireSprinkPro's purchased features.

When you create an account, we may process:

your email address;
an optional display name;
authentication and account information required to operate and secure your account;
information necessary to determine your FireSprinkPro licence or entitlement; and
project information that you choose to upload using the cloud backup or synchronisation features.

Authentication is provided using Supabase.

Your password is handled through the authentication service. FireSprinkPro does not have access to your password in readable plain-text form.

4. Purchases and licences

FireSprinkPro may offer products including Monthly Subscriptions and Lifetime Licences.

Where a purchase is processed through an app store such as Google Play, payment information such as your complete credit or debit card details is handled by the payment provider and is not provided to FireSprinkPro.

We may receive or process information necessary to confirm that a valid purchase has been made and to determine which FireSprinkPro features your account is entitled to use.

The payment provider may separately collect and process information according to its own privacy policy.

5. Your projects

Projects created with FireSprinkPro may include information such as:

project names;
sprinkler and pipe layouts;
nodes and design information;
hydraulic calculations;
building or site information;
notes and other information entered by you; and
other information contained within a FireSprinkPro project file.

Depending on what you choose to enter into a project, a project file could contain personal information, such as a customer's name or a site address.

You control the information you enter into your projects.

6. Optional cloud backup and synchronisation

Cloud backup and synchronisation are optional.

If you choose to use these features, the project information you select for cloud storage must be transmitted from your device to our cloud service so that it can be stored, retrieved or synchronised.

We use Supabase to provide cloud infrastructure, including services used for account authentication and storage.

If you do not choose to upload a project to the cloud, FireSprinkPro does not require that project to be stored in our cloud service simply for you to work on it locally.

7. Why we process personal information

We process personal information only where it is reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure or support FireSprinkPro.

Depending on the circumstances, this includes:

creating and authenticating your account;
providing access to features you have purchased;
maintaining your licence or subscription entitlement;
providing cloud backup and synchronisation when you request it;
protecting accounts and the service against misuse or unauthorised access;
responding to support enquiries;
complying with applicable legal obligations; and
administering requests relating to your privacy or account.

For users protected by the European Union or European Economic Area's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our legal basis will depend on the particular processing involved.

Where information is necessary to create your account, provide purchased features or provide cloud services you request, processing will generally be necessary to perform our contract with you.

Where reasonably necessary to protect the security and integrity of FireSprinkPro, we may rely on our legitimate interests, provided those interests do not override your rights and freedoms.

Where the law requires consent for particular processing, we will request that consent.

Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, we may process the relevant information for that purpose.

8. What we do NOT do with your information

FireSprinkPro does not use your personal information to:

sell personal information;
build advertising profiles;
deliver behavioural or targeted advertising;
track your activity across unrelated apps or websites;
market third-party products to you; or
make automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

If these practices change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated and any consent required by applicable law will be obtained before the relevant processing occurs.

9. Service providers

We use service providers where necessary to operate FireSprinkPro.

These may include:

Supabase — for services such as account authentication and cloud infrastructure.

App stores and payment providers — such as Google Play, where applicable, for distribution, purchases, subscriptions and related licence or entitlement functions.

These organisations may process information necessary to provide their services.

We do not permit service providers acting on our behalf to use information supplied by FireSprinkPro for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

Some providers may independently process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

10. International data processing

FireSprinkPro is available internationally.

As a result, personal information may be processed or stored in a country different from the country in which you live.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer of personal information, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate protections are in place.

We will update this Privacy Policy where necessary to provide more specific information about relevant storage locations or international transfer arrangements.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.

Information transmitted between the FireSprinkPro app and our cloud services is protected in transit using encrypted connections such as HTTPS.

No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security. We therefore continually aim to limit the information we collect and retain to what is reasonably necessary to operate the service.

12. How long we keep information

We retain account information for as long as your account remains active and as necessary to provide FireSprinkPro's services.

Cloud project information is retained while you choose to store it using the cloud service.

You can delete individual cloud-backed projects using the app where this functionality is available.

If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account where it is no longer required for a legitimate or legal purpose.

Some information may need to be retained temporarily in backups, security records, transaction records or where retention is required by law. Such information will not be retained for longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is retained.

13. Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You may contact us to:

ask what personal information we hold about you;
request access to that information;
ask us to correct inaccurate information;
request deletion of your account and associated personal information; or
ask a question about how your information is being handled.

Where reasonably necessary, we may ask you to verify that you are the account holder before completing a privacy or deletion request.

14. Additional rights for European users

If the GDPR applies to the processing of your personal information, you may have additional rights, including the right to:

access your personal information;
correct inaccurate personal information;
request erasure of personal information;
restrict certain processing;
object to certain processing;
receive certain information in a portable format;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection supervisory authority.

These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by applicable law.

Exercising a privacy right will not result in discrimination or affect services that do not reasonably require the information concerned.

15. United States privacy rights

Privacy rights in the United States vary by state.

Where an applicable US privacy law gives you rights concerning your personal information, FireSprinkPro will honour those rights as required by that law.

Depending on the applicable law, these may include rights to access, correct or delete personal information and obtain information about how it is used.

FireSprinkPro does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

16. Australian privacy

Where the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to FireSprinkPro, we will handle personal information in accordance with those requirements.

You may contact us if you wish to access or correct personal information we hold about you or if you have a concern about how your personal information has been handled.

We will investigate privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period.

If a privacy complaint cannot be resolved directly with us, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

17. South African privacy

Where South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) applies, we will process personal information in accordance with applicable POPIA requirements.

You may contact us regarding access, correction or deletion of personal information or to object to processing where a right to do so applies.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator.

18. Children

FireSprinkPro is a specialist professional tool intended for people working with fire sprinkler design and related professional activities.

It is not designed or directed towards children.

FireSprinkPro's paid services are intended for users aged 18 years or older.

We do not knowingly use FireSprinkPro to solicit personal information from children for advertising, profiling or marketing.

19. Support communications

If you contact FireSprinkPro for support, we will receive the information you choose to provide in your message, together with information necessary to communicate with you, such as your email address.

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, investigate the issue and provide support.

Please avoid sending personal information that is not necessary for us to deal with your request.

20. Your responsibilities when entering other people's information

FireSprinkPro may be used for commercial projects.

If you enter personal information relating to another person into a project — for example, a customer name, contact detail or site information — you are responsible for ensuring that you are authorised to use that information.

Please avoid including personal information in a project unless it is reasonably necessary for your work.

21. Changes to this Privacy Policy

FireSprinkPro may change over time, and we may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change.

The current version will display the date on which it was last updated.

If a change materially affects how we use personal information already provided to us, we will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate notice where required by law.
